Audio Tour App Under Development

Historic District Audio Walking Tour App

Your Friends of the Concord Covered Bridge are busy developing a Smartphone App that will lead visitors along an exciting and educational Self-Guided Audio Walking Tour of the Historic District.  This unique App will take tour takers to and through fourteen different locations within and around the District; pointing out its landmarks, describing the rich history of the area, and providing supplemental photo and video content, right on your iPhone, iPad or Android device.

The App utilizes GPS Locations from your Smartphone to lead you from point-to-point, while playing a narrative that will both entertain you and enrich your knowledge about the life and times of the earliest settlers to what we now call the Concord Covered Bridge Historic District.  As you walk the path that the Tour App directs you towards, geofencing will sense your position as you approach each stop, automatically playing the relevant audio program describing the people, places, and events as they occurred in the 19th Century.  Subsequently, the App will direct you towards your next destination on the Tour.

You will only need to download the free App from the Apple App Store or Google Play, after which the Tour no longer requires a cell-tower or internet data connection.  The Tour App includes key numbered sites and a detailed Map, allowing you to take the full Tour all at once or just to visit the points of interest that you may wish to learn more about.

We hope to be ready to release this App to the public within the next few months.  You can sign up at the bottom of this page to be added to our email list which will allow us to notify you when and where you can download the Free App for your smart phone or tablet.  Stay tuned…
