About

The Concord Covered Bridge Historic District was created by Cobb County, Georgia in 1986. The district includes many historic structures dating back to the mid-1800s when milling communities developed along the Nickajack Creek. This site is maintained by the Friends of the Concord Covered Bridge Historic District, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) non-profit. The Friends of the Concord Covered Bridge Historic District are committed to preserve, protect, and promote the history and legacy of this unique and irreplaceable part of Cobb County, Georgia, through education, celebration, and collaboration.

The Vision of The Friends of the Concord Covered Bridge Historic District:

Our collective vision is that the rich historic, cultural, and natural heritage of this area should be preserved and enhanced for the benefit of both local residents and visitors, for generations to come.  This vision will be achieved by working with governmental officials, interested organizations, and the communities in and around the District to insure historic conservation and intelligent growth.  The result will allow us to maintain and improve this historic place for the welfare of all those who want to visit and enjoy the Concord Covered Bridge Historic District.

How you can help fulfill this Vision:

Won’t you consider joining our organization to aid in this Mission and help us to protect this important and irreplaceable part of our Cobb County heritage? Just $20 per year will support the work that must be constantly pursued in order to achieve these goals. With your dues, you will receive regular email updates keeping you informed of our activities and be invited to attend our Annual Meeting in the spring.
