The Friends of the Concord Covered Bridge Historic District invite YOU to join us on Saturday, March 2nd to Plant two more Maple Trees along the path leading down to the Silver Comet Trail at Concord Road. Last year we planted our first two trees on Earth Day in April, donating them to Cobb Parks. The county asked us to plant closer to Arbor Day in the future, which in Georgia is the third Friday in February. Hopefully we will have some warmer weather by March 2nd.
We will meet at the Concord Road Trailhead Parking Lot at 10:00 AM. Just bring a pair of working gloves and we will supply all of the necessary tools and accouterments. Immediately following, we will conduct a Walking History Tour of the Historic District. This will be an excellent opportunity for you to learn more about the people and stories that shaped the origins of our area of Cobb County. Our organization is committed to preserve, protect, and promote the history and legacy of this unique and irreplaceable part of Cobb County, Georgia, through education, celebration, and collaboration.
There is an Event Post at NextDoor.com where you can indicate your planned attendance: https://nextdoor.com/events/2714473/
So please join us to celebrate Arbor Day and turn out to support our organization. If you want to donate anything towards the tree planting, you can do so quickly and easily online here: http://concordcoveredbridge.org/join/
